You’re not bad at Leading.

You’re Solving the Wrong Problem.

Most leaders have great instincts and good intentions, and still waste months spinning their wheels.

This 60-minute workshop will change how you think, not just what you do.

Most leaders struggle not because they lack good solutions, but because they’re applying those solutions to the wrong problem.
— Elissa Zylbershlag, Founder/CEO, Work Wise Labs

Does this quote sound uncomfortably familiar?

Good. That’s exactly where this workshop starts.

You have the right solutions, when you know what the right problem is to solve.

What’s Inside?

One Hour. Four Tools. Leave Ready to lead.

  • Critical Thinking vs. Reactive Thinking

Understand why your gut reaction — no matter how experienced you are — is often the wrong starting point.

  • Look Outside the Frame

The problem you see is rarely the problem you have. Learn to ask the questions nobody else is asking.

  • Find the Bright Spots

When something's working somewhere in your org, it's a roadmap. Stop fixating on failure. Study success.

  • Look in the Mirror

The most uncomfortable — and most powerful — reframe: what's your role in creating this problem?

Who Should Come?

THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR YOU IF:

You're new to leading people.
And you're starting to realize that solving problems for your team is very different from solving problems on your own.

You find yourself spinning your wheels.
You've tried different solutions to the same persistent problem — and nothing sticks. This workshop explains why.

You react faster than you think.
You're not proud of it, but pressure brings out the gut reaction before the thoughtful response. That's exactly what we're working on.

You want frameworks, not inspiration.
You're done with fluffy leadership content. You want tools you can use on Monday morning.

Analyzing assumed problems is a problem.
— Workshop Participant
  • Leaders and managers who are tired of putting out the same fires over and over

  • People who are new to leading others or stepping into a bigger role

  • Anyone realizing that good intentions alone aren't getting the job done

  • Those willing to think differently about the problems sitting on their desk right now

This workshop is Ideal for:

What am I doing wrong?

Anyone who has thought:

Most leadership training teaches you how to manage people. This one teaches you how to manage your thinking.

The ability to identify the right problem before jumping to a solution is one of the most underleveraged skills in leadership.

Reactive decision-making is costly. This workshop gives you a way out of that cycle.

Why this workshop Matters

When leaders solve the wrong problem, teams stay stuck and the same issues keep resurfacing no matter how hard everyone works

  • Explore the difference between reactive and critical thinking and what it costs you to confuse the two

  • Practice three practical reframing tools that help you get to the root of any problem before you act

  • Work through real workplace scenarios in small breakout groups with peers facing the same challenges

  • Leave with a clear framework for slowing down, asking better questions, and making more intentional decisions

Meet Elissa.

Hi, I’m Elissa, and I help managers in non-profits, government agencies, and small businesses lead in ways that makes everyone feel appreciated.

How do I do that? l come into your workplace and either work 1:1 with managers, or lead group workshops that strengthen leadership and connection. If that sounds dry, it’s not! My specialty is to focus on the fun, healthy, and productive side of things.

My approach is two-fold:

  • In a best-case world, I work with groups and use fun team building exercises in workshops and on retreats to strengthen bonds and improve workplace culture. Think of it as a proactive approach, like eating leafy, green vegetables or going for a run to keep your heart healthy and functioning properly.

  • I also work directly with managers to help improve the workplace environment when it’s clear that something is just a bit out of whack. Like when you just need a new carburetor to make the car hum again. In these reactive situations where the problems already exist; I work with leaders on everything from trust issues to growth struggles to FIX what’s wrong so employees feel supported and connected and happy to show up for work.

I have a Master’s Degree in Multicultural Education and a certification in Positive Psychology, but it’s the practical experience I received working for over 20 years with people in mission-driven organizations that allows me to help managers create more inclusive environments that are able to tap into their employees strengths.

Because no one wants to work in a place that doesn’t support them. Doesn’t get them. With Work Wise Labs resources, you can help your managers create an environment that is fun and supportive, without ever losing sight of your workplace’s mission.

Work Wise Labs grew organically out of the lessons I learned along the way. Bottom line: everyone should be happy to go to work, and I can provide the tools to make that happen.
