  • Highlight existing leadership qualities

EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

  • Understand the difference between and value of both managers and leaders

  • Identify manager’s communication styles and explore how to optimize them with their team

  • Apply communication strategies to real-world team challenges

PROBLEM-SOLVING and DECISION-MAKING

  • Identify the right problems to solve and avoid wasting time on the wrong problems

  • Introduce a three-step strategic process to effectively solve problems

  • Practice problem-solving using real-world problems

  • Examine a model of decision-making and how to best communicate this model within a team

GIVING AND RECEIVING FEEDBACK

  • Understand the factors that lead to effectively giving and receiving feedback

  • Provide guidelines and practical strategies to give feedback

  • Provide practical strategies to receive feedback

CONFLICT RESOLUTION

  • Introduce conflict resolution as a concept and highlight its benefits

  • Identify individual contributions to conflict

  • Learn proactive strategies to prevent and mitigate conflicts before they escalate

MANAGING LOW AND HIGH PERFORMERS

  • Introduce the concept of Situational Leadership

  • Identify different managerial styles and how to use them to support, motivate, and challenge employees at different performance levels

  • Learn strategies to keep high performers engaged and growing, while helping low performers improve and feel supported

  • Practice using Situational Leadership using real-life scenarios
